Gilbert d'Entremont

Gilbert François d’Entremont, age 74, of Middle West Pubnico died September 20. 2023 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital.  Born in Lower West Pubnico, he was a son of the late Bernard and Lucille (d'Entremont) d’Entremont.  He was a retired truck driver.  Gil is survived by his wife Connie (d’Eon) d’Entremont, a son; Louis-Marc (Amy) Quinan, mother-in-law; Rose d’Eon, Nakile Home, Argyle, brothers; Cleve (June), Middle West Pubnico, Tim (Connie) Kingston, NS, a sister; Leona (Nick) Doucette, Belleville, the apple of his eye; his granddaughter Emily, his chosen family; daughter; Michelle (Mark) Chetwynd and granddaughter Claire, New Hampshire, as well as nieces and nephews; Noel, Lori, Isaac, Caleb, Zachary, Jasmine and André.  

A prayer celebration will be held Monday, September 25, 2023 at 2pm in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Middle West Pubnico with Fr. Cyrille Assihou officiating.  The celebration will be live streamed on the West Pubnico Funeral Home and Cremation Services Facebook page beginning at 2pm. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Donations in memory may be made to St. Peter’s Cemetery Fund or Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund. Gil, known on the road as ‘Chubby’, drove for S.F. d’Eon, Stoney Island Fisheries, D.C. Huskins and finished his career with R. A. d’Eon Trucking. In his time off he enjoyed being at ‘La vielle camp’ across Great Pubnico Lake, hunting and enjoying camp time with his friends.  He also enjoyed going to the wharf with his canine companion ‘Oreo’.  Dad we will always love you.
