Gary Greene

Greene, Gary Clarke, age 76 of Lower Argyle died February 5, 2022 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital.  Born in Lower Argyle he was a son of the late Everett and Hattie (Nickerson) Greene.  He is survived by his wife Linda (Conrad) Greene, Lower Argyle, daughters; Kimberley Doucette, Summerville, Faith (Roger) Muise, Lower Argyle, brothers; Duke (Donna) Sandbeach, Yarmouth County, Merrill (Julie), Lower Argyle and a sister; Cheryl (Walter) Spinney, Lower Argyle and three grandchildren; Brett, Logan and Justin.  He was predeceased by a brother Jack and a sister Rosalind.  A private graveside service will be held in the Harbourview Cemetery with Pastor Mitchell Deware officiating.  Donations in memory may be made to any children’s charity of your choice.  On line condolences may be forwarded to the family at westpubnicofh.com.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the West Pubnico Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middle West Pubnico.  902 762-3407.

As a child, Gary would stop at the piano for a tune on his was to the kitchen before he could talk. Music was a huge part of the Greene family and that continued throughout Gary’s life. He has played music with people all over the world; Paris, Denmark, the French Alps and across Canada, but a back yard jam was always his favorite. Winning the Maritime Fiddling Championship and being inducted into the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame speak to his talent.

Gary was a hard worker, a lobster fisherman and a contract carpenter in his "off time". He had a passion for hockey and loved hanging out with "the pool sharks" at Dooley’s.

He will be missed by all who knew him, especially his family, but we are rejoicing in his life of faith and take comfort in knowing he is with his Lord and Saviour.
